CLIIA Award
In an effort to honor the resilience and determination of our high school students, especially given the educational challenges during the pandemic, the Cousins and Littlejohn Islands Improvement Association (CLIIA) established an annual scholarship in 2021.

Beginning with Maine’s indigenous people, to the various fishing and lobstering folk, to the year-round residents, Cousins Island and Littlejohn Island have a shared history and a shared community. This award seeks to recognize a graduating high school senior who understands the value of building community through volunteering and community service.

Requirements: The award recipient must be: (1) a full-time resident of Cousins Island or Littlejohn Island, (2) a graduating high school senior, and (3) must intend to pursue higher education, military service, volunteer work, trade school, a gap year program, or a defined work experience. The recipient will be announced at their high school’s Senior Awards presentation.
